I wear my FitBit Flex all the time. If I've run, it shows "active minutes" and my steps show the distance I've run. If I go into app and "track exercise" my steps and active minutes jump. Why bother tracking exercise? If you've exercised and were not wearing it? Is that the reason?

I don't think I'm understanding your question. Are you saying that when you're explicitly tracking an exercise, you are credited with more steps? I don't think that's the case.

I'm most likely misunderstanding, but will try to help if you clarify it for me a little.
