Kinda depends on what he does and where he works?

If your in an office or an environment where the watch isn't really at risk of being knocked around and beat up, then I'd suggest an Android Wear watch. There are many different styles and watches and price points depending on what he likes and what you want to spend.

If your in a garage, machine shop, or someplace that the watch could be in danger of getting knocked around, I'd suggest the Pebble line of watches. The Time series of pebble watches can be found for cheaper prices now and they have a history of better battery life and being able to take some abuse and still continue to function.

    Just my .02.
