OK, the holidays came and went, and you're trying your darndest to stay on point on your New Year's resolutions. You need to loosen your belt...what if you have a "smart belt" that can do that for you? Featured as a smart fitness belt in CES 2015, the Belty will adjust during the course of the day, keep track of your heath (has tracking capabilities like a smartwatch or wearable), and it supposedly will notify you if you've been sitting for too long. As with a number of things in CES, no price or ETA has been mentioned as of yet. Would you consider getting one of these?

No I would not buy this and tbh I can't think of anyone who would. Surely if your belt is too tight you loosen it?

One of the founders was quoted as saying:

"the belt experience hasn't changed in centuries,"

    I wonder why??????

I mean why the experience hasn't changed. Not why he said it....

I've been using a TrakLine belt for over a year now and love it. It, too, is a "updated" belt design, but a bit less techie than this one.

Personally, while I don't think I would ever buy a belty smart belt, I do love it when companies or individuals come up with ways to use technology in a new creative way. For that alone, I'd applaud the belty creators and for giving us all a chuckle .

    Yeah this is stupid.

My idea for a smart belt is one made with flexible batteries inside and a USB charging point. Tried to look into it but the prototype flexible batteries for a possible prototype were too expensive.
