    I've heard you need your IPhone with you when out running to make the iWatch work due to GPS? Is that right?

    I'm not sure. Other bands/watches that are GPS enabled don't need a connected device, but there's no telling with Apple. I would think it should be able to store the data until you can connect it to your phone and sync.
