Is the lock symbol keeping me from connecting?

The lock symbol on a WiFi connection typically means that particular Wi-Fi connection is password protected and not open to the public. If this is your Wi-Fi router and you have put a password on it, then this is completely normal and not a problem.

Simply connect to that Wi-Fi connection and enter your password when prompted to do so.

Even with the lock you should still be able to connect / connected once you enter your password...if it's through a cable provider, they often put the key on a sticker on the router
